Thisbe Theater Company

This project was a rebrand of Thisbe Theater Company, an off-off Broadway company located in New York City. Our mission was to drive audiences to their performance of ‘Matches’ at a 56 person capacity venue, The Tank, located in New York. With the highly competitive New York theatre environment in mind, this task desired a creative, refreshing, and authentic approach. It was our team’s job, Fire & Co, to distinguish the core brand identity of Thisbe Theater Company from others and exaggerate inclusiveness the theater promotes. By rebranding social media presence, producing both print and press pieces, and proposing a new brand design, we could primarily focus on the needs Thisbe Theater desired.

Although Thisbe Theater Company did benefit from a rebranding of the company itself, they asked us to primarily focus on their production of ‘Matches.’ ‘Matches’ is a production consisting of 9, 10 minute plays resembling themes of conflict and lifestyle. Previous to our involvement, they had wanted to move away from the prior boxing theme associated with the play. Not only did we propose an entirely new color palette, but a refreshing design and logo for each individual play that would represent ‘Matches’ in a more mature manner. Regarding the Thisbe Theater Company itself, we used a dagger and broadway mask to represent the overall company.

Throughout our proposal, we presented a new target audience and a variety of multimedia tactics that would not only benefit the production of ‘Matches’, but bring awareness to Thisbe Theater Company. Fortunately, our team was chosen by Thisbe Theater Company to pursue our proposal and we received the sign off.
